Stoney Creek – Country Church

Details

I was thinking about the roofing. The kit comes with simulated three tab asphalt shingles. My layout is meant to be in the 1875-1900 time frame, kind of narrowing in on the early 1880s. I found lots of conflicting information but it seems that tabbed asphalt shingles were first developed in about 1913. Too new. I decided to use Rusty Stumps 9″ rounded shingles to simulate slate for the main roof. Tarpaper was fine for the shed. The steeple roof was still undecided.

While I was waiting for the shingles to arrive I added a few details.
